Try the better business bureau to start but also check into contacting the FBI. This involves money transfers (most likely across state lines). I don't know if you'll get your money back but its worth pursing. Also, I know it'd be a hassle, but you probably want to close your bank account.

It's not money laundering, it's just a scam. You put their check in your bank account, send them your own check, and then their check gets returned. They disappear with your cash. Just delete it and don't fall for it.

Don't take Word 2007. My mom just took the class and she cannot find any business that even uses it! (she works as a temp) (It is very expensive for a company to upgrade their whole company to a more current version of software, so most are willing to stick with the still supported Word 2003, as long as they possibly can)

I don't think you'd need Access; most adminstrative people don't tackle that, that would go to analysts. If you did know it, it would be a plus, but not in most jobs.

Powerpoint is a skill that not all companies need, but, like Access, if the company does need it, it will be a minimum requirement of the job.

If I had limited time and resources, I'd focus on Word 2003 and excel, and look through job descriptions of the companies you most want to work for. Then when you find that you keep reading "powerpoint" then you will decide whether to take that class, too!

Most non-professional opportunities will gravitate to either manual service or technical support for the increasing mobil devices which outsourcing makes cheaper and abundant. If you do not have the inclination or means to learn a trade or obtain higher education, your current field would seem to be a betterer track than fast food or retail.
