Bank Cashier Jobs

Richard Said:

I want to get a job of Teller/ Cashier in Bank in Russia, how do it get a job in russia?

We Answered:

You may have to undergo a "grueling" language exam, written and oral to gauge your proficiency in the language. Then you have to take a specialization in "Commercial Russian", the equivalent of "Wirtschaftsdeutsch" for German. Maybe you don't have to undergo through all these tests, but the job interview is already more than enough to test your competency in the language.

Byron Said:

Hi everybody! Can anyone please tell me what are the qualifications needed for a cashier job in the bank??

We Answered:

It will differ per country I guess, but in general:
Bank tellers interact with the majority of bank customers. Tellers generally handle a wide range of banking transactions, such as cashing checks, accepting deposits and loan payments, and processing withdrawals. They sell savings bonds; accept payment for customers' utility bills; receive deposits for special accounts; keep records and perform the necessary paperwork for customer loans; process the proliferating variety of certificates of deposit and money market accounts; and sell travelers' checks. Some tellers specialize in handling foreign currencies or commercial or business accounts.

When hiring tellers, banks seek applicants who enjoy public contact and have good numerical, clerical, and communication skills. Tellers must feel comfortable handling large amounts of cash and working with computers and video terminals, since their work is dependent on this technology. In some metropolitan areas, employers seek multilingual tellers.

Christine Said:

Is it hard to get a job as a Bank Teller if I have no experience with a cashier or handling money?

We Answered:

They don't hire teenagers or inexperienced people. If they hire students, it's usually ones that are majoring in accounting and finances at colleges. You need record keeping and computer type schools as well as being good at money.

Angela Said:

How do you get a job as a cashier in an irish bank/financial institution?

We Answered:

Apply directly to the bank. You can go on their websites and can probably apply online. You need your CV for AIB I know, as I applied there before and had an interview...which I didn't get, but they were very nice. Good luck.
