At 20 years old, how much money should I have in the bank?

We Answered:

There is no single correct answer to how much you should have in the bank, because only some people will have started working at 16, and then wages vary greatly. If you can achieve your aim of saving 60%, you will be doing brilliantly, though I would suggest giving your mom some for her constant support. You are grown up now, and grown up people pay their own bills. And then you could work on saving 60% of what you have left. And see if you can find a savings account that will give you a better rate of interest than you describe.

What kind of summer job should I get?

We Answered:

I would go with the bank. Its hard to get into a bank as a teller or anything, but if you do its going to look great on your resume. Plus it might be more fun then you think. Alot of clothing stores treat their employess badly so it might not be as fun as you think. Also since your a Jr. your going to be grad soon. If you do the bank job, thats more experence you have in your field, meaning you will be able to get a better job.

I can't get a job! Can someone help?

We Answered:

Have you considered a temporary job? I found that was very helpful in establishing a work history and allowed me to "experiment" with companies before I actually applied. A lot of companies like to "try before they buy" so they do contract with temp agencies as well.
