I work at a large bank (that can't seem to stay out of the news lately) and I am a Finance associate who develops Financial Reporting applications. There are quite a few careers to choose from in Finance that utilize tech skill sets, esp in Financial Systems or Information Delivery (buzz word). Check out Finance departments that use Performance Measurement or Information Delivery. I do think you'd be pretty much starting over, but you may get credit for your 2 years in that the learning curve for Finance Systems may be smaller for you than just any one off the street, but you'll have to sell that to them. Good luck with your search. BTW, may not be the best time to make the switch to banks at the moment, times are turbulent.

If you have a degree - or any other qualification - then you'll already be in front of of the masses when it comes to looking for careers. My mate has a degree and he wasn't sure what direction to go with it, but he unearthed some excellent tips on the site in the resource box below which guided him to settle that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is loads of help on the site regarding other careers.
