I was under the impression that "White Guilt" implied WHITES showing favoritism toward black people due to guilt over past injustices against the latter (both actual and supposed). If anything, the election of Obama would seem to suggest that White Guilt still exists NOT that it's over. That being said, Obama got elected on merit i.e because he was the best man for the job. I must say though that Obama isn't black - he's mixed race, partly Anglo-Saxon. I'm just being technical.
Oh and by the way, there is one group I think stands very near-zero chance of having one of their own become US president: homosexuals! US society has not matured to that degree yet.

I'm White/Native American, and didn't vote for President Obama because of guilt, I voted for him because he was and is the best person to hire for the position of President of the United States.
Please stop all this racist CRAP, I call it CRAP because that is what it is. Do you have something to feel guilty about??? Is that why the soap box on white guilt? I don't feel guilty. Black people don't want you to feel guilty either. They want you to treat them as equal, and recognize when the playing field isn't level.
It's a sad thing that the first black president is finally elected and rather than being happy for people, and for our country, all some people can do is worry about crazy stuff. Or is just that scary to let someone else drive other than old, rich, white MEN. Others do have something of value to offer.
P.S. I know a lot more white people drawing welfare and asking for a handout than I do people of minority status.

Racism is discriminating in any way based on race. Voting for Obama based on race would be as racist as not voting for him because of it.

I know more people who voted for him just to show the world we are not racist.Which I find ironic, as racist as they are in Europe (and disguising it with "culture.").

In the west, yes you technically can bash any religion. At least in most places. However, if you work for a news network and say things on air that will be offensive to a large group of people, the network or company you work for has every right to end your career. Just because a country itself allows for free speech does not mean that you can say whatever you want if you are representing a company on air. Also, you are very much over exaggerating by saying that you cannot speak out against whomever you want. You say that the media is controlled by people of the Jewish faith so you can't make a movie saying whatever you want about Jews? You may have a hard time getting it backed by a major production company but you can certainly make the movie if you want. No one will stop you.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that just because free speech is allowed doesn't mean that people won't be offended by what you say, nor does it mean that private corporations for which you may work will allow you to say these things when representing them.
