Should I quit my job as a bank teller to become a medical billing and coding specialist? We Answered:
The pay for billers and coders vary greatly depending where you and what certifications you have. Working for a hospital requires the CPC credential and the money is good and benefits excellent. Working for a doctors office or clinic w/o certification pays about $12-$15 an hour starting out. With certification, working in a doctors office would be around $15-$18 an hour. Hospital coders make about $20 an hour starting w/ benefits. Working at home- some coders work at home for doctors offices and some billers do the same. If you get into electronic claims submission, it can be lucrative but difficult to find the clients at first. Bank tellers do not make good money, in my opinion. I feel the career change would be beneficial to you. I recommend reading AHIMAs website. Also check out www.med-certification.com. You can get quality training online, but BEWARE of companies that are really software vendors pretending to be schools to rope you into buying their software. Good online training should not cost more than $2,000.Another thing, if you plan to do billing at home, there will be a hefty software expense for you. For example, the going price for Medisoft Patient Accounting Software is about $1,000. So, there will be start up costs.
Your best best, in my opinion, is to get some good online training. Get your CCA credential from AHIMA and start out in a doctor's office doing coding and billing. Then, study and get your CCS P credential and then continue moving up from there. Eventually, I'd shoot for a hospital coding job.
It is a good career choice, stable and solid, and growing.

What's the average salary of a bank teller??We Answered:
First and foremost, do not worry. You should use your time and energy to focus on being positive.Next, you must realize finding the right job takes time. It is something you have to work hard at. If you just graduated take this time to go to your college or university and ask the Career Services Department to assist in your job search.
Also be mindful that it is very competitive these days. Having a degree may not put your resume to the top of the pile because there are so many others looking for the same job as you.
If you want to acquire experience, think about working with temp agencies. They can help you find employment. Since the assignment may be short-term this can give you the experience factor you need to obtain a job.
Also be persistent, Make a schedule to set a time to regularly submit your resume daily. And follow up with each job lead you receive.
Networking is an excellent tool to find job leads as well.
Be creative and have fun doing it! It will make a world of a difference if you can think of ways to get your foot in the door. And if you have fun doing it things won't seem so mundane.
This took some digging to find. The median hourly rate for a Bank Teller for 1-4 years in Australia is $13.54 per hour. The info that I found did not list anything for entry-level experience. But you can use the data contained in this link as a guide for the future.

I have tried these methods I have given you and they have worked wonders. I have been in the field of HR for 6 years and I give this type of info to people on a daily basis. It is amazing how simplistic and effective these techniques have helped others.
I hope this info was helpful to you.
Best of luck with your job search. Be encouraged and don't worry your dream job will come very soon!
God Bless.....

Which pays more at a bank - bank teller or customer service representative? We Answered:
helloA CSR earns more. They are often recruited from the teller ranks. The CSR name is NOT a generic name. They often mean completely different things with different banks.... but, in all the CSR is a more skilled position.
