while there may not be any bulge brackets down there, Raymond James is in Tampa, and a solid mid-market i-bank.

you should also be able to find quite a few boutiques down there, too, i would imagine.

Your concerns are valid. Getting a job in St Pete is rough right now - unless you are really good at telemarketing, call centers, or nursing (they are always hiring). I live in St Pete and drive to Brandon everyday for work - and that will end soon, they have sold off my office to a company in OH. This is a great time to buy property in St Pete since the for closures are so high, but not a good time to look for a job.

Stay in Florida ! There are many social related problems that arise in moving away from your "home" area that extra money doesn't make up for.

as for set-up in a bank ? you will have to live there in order to do that
for a house ? that will depend on your incomes after you get there ,and you may want to know the area first .....
the best is to find a job first so that you may have a sponsor asking for a visa to work in the US

Every insitution is different and different guidlines the best way to find for sure us to call the bank or the number on the letter that you got, I have herd some say it takes 3 months and then I have herd others say they show up knock on your door and you have to leave, so not to caught off guard iwould call the bank and see the time frame that I have.
