Banks Of America Careers

Joe Said:

Which of these finance careers would you choose?

We Answered:

Congrats on the finance degree! No experience? Must start at the bottom of the food chain, unless you run into an opening that is specifically looking for "0" years. Although inside connections will bypass this stage. If not, look for any finance related job just so you can put that on your resume'. Remember to be patient. Its about your career path the decisions you make now.

hi im goig to interview tommorow for bank of america but i dnt have a good career objective please help me?

We Answered:

Hello Norma: Congratulations! You've passed the first hurdle in landing an interview.

If this position is at entry level, your career objective with such a large organization would be "To learn more about business and experience the banking or economic world first-hand." If you have worked for another bank, and are changing companies, you could say, "I've seen the rest, and now want to work for the best." This hits the spot every time.

When going on an interview, there are 3 things you should NEVER be without:
1. A clean original copy of your resume (with NO spelling errors, your correct phone number and address);
2. A list of references; 3 professional and 2 personal
(Complete with their name, job title, company they work for, and their contact phone number); and
3. A salary history. It's important to map out what you've been paid in previous jobs, so that when you ask for your next salary, you are reasonable in your expectations. It also shows that you've progressively upgraded yourself as you've moved up the corporate ladder while you gained more experience.

Having these things with you, shows the employer that you're serious about getting a job, and that you've organized yourself before the meeting to ensure success. Good luck with your interview.

Carole Said:

what can i major in to advance my career in banking?

We Answered:

The real question here is what do you want to do? BofA is one of the largest banks in the country. They have jobs in just about any field you could imagine. However, you may be limited by your location -- for BofA, many of the non-customer-facing positions will be in Charlotte, NC and NYC.

If you want to stay in a branch, then marketing may be your best shot and then I'm willing to bet BofA has a branch manager development program you could go into out of school.

Without knowing more about your situation, I would suggest either marketing or business administration -- or possibly some combination of the two depending on what your school offers.

please help with my cover letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

We Answered:

Here's a sample of how it could read:

To Whom It May Concern: (it would be better if you called and got the name of the person who does the hiring).

I am interested in the Sales and Service Specialist position Bank of America has posted on their Careers website. I am very interested in becoming a team member and feel confident my qualifications and leadership skills could be an asset to this fine organization.
I am presently working as a Teller III in a bank and prefer not to disclose information about my current employer at this time. "(do not give info about your current work place before the interview)." Prior to this position, I served as an Assistant Teller Manager at a bank.
I graduated from Rockdale County High School in May, 2005. During my school years I was outgoing and held (list any positions you may have held in high school to show leadership skills). I am a person who is hardworking, determined, efficient and a team player. Being punctual and organized has always been considered a strong trait of mine.
I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
