Earl Said:

masters in finance to secure a job in a top tier investment bank in london ?

We Answered:

Of course he will have a chance. He wont be competing against those laid off staff. Companies still need to fill graduate programmes and will do so because its cheap labor ( in the grand scheme of things) Do the masters and apply to as many graduate programmes as possible and work your way up.

Virgil Said:

Would this be a good thank you letter after a bank teller interview?

We Answered:

I work for a bank in my area and although I don't work in the Human Resources Department, I can tell you that they will appreciate a thank you note like this. A lot of people do not do this nowadays. I cannot tell you if you will get the job or not of course, but I hope you do. You sound very appreciative and intelligent. Once you get into the job, if you are working for a bank, there are also many, many other opportunities as well as a teller position. I had no banking experience at all when I got my job (I'm not a teller by the way) and I had no clue as to what all went on in banking. Even if you don't get this particular job, I know you will find something that you will excel in. Good luck!

If you can, definitely go for the bank job, it would look a lot better when you are applying to a finance job later in life.
