Career In Investment Banking
Mark Said:
Chances of an Investment Banking Career? We Answered:
If you network, anything is possible. I think it would be very hard to enter the corporate finance function of an investment bank without coming from a highly-regarded school or having a good connection. You could try networking with middle market banks and you'll have a better chance.Your other option would be to become a stock broker at an investment bank, which is a lot less competitive. From there, you may be able to network with the corporate finance team a bit and see if there is a path for you to move over into an analyst position.
You could also go to a top MBA program further on in your career and then take a shot at an I-banking associate position.
