Going from a teller to a personal banker is a big jump. A jump like that would usually take a few years. Hoever if you can get this job at another bank, then go for it. The pay will be much better. However, it is going to be a sales job. You are going to be responsbile for generating business for the bank. This means making phone calls to customer and selling a wide variety of products. This includes mortgages, investments, checking accunts. Just be prepared for the pressure you will be under, this is even more the case in the current banking enviroment.
