Chad Said:

what would make someone lie constantly, about almost everything?

We Answered:

He is disturbed. I used to have a friend like this also, and he was fun to be around as long as you took everything that came out of his mouth with a grain of salt. Many people disliked him because of this, and confronted with it he would make up even more lies to explain it. I believe he (and probably your friend too) is a pathalogical liar. Why people do this, I do not know... but I think it is a defense mechanism or a compulsion that they can't help.

As far as why, I think it differs from person to person but ends up being one of the things I listed above... Crazy people.. haha... but they can be fun!

Wondering about my chances at villanova?

We Answered:

Your critical reading score is low as you noted. The rest of your record is fine. Your math SAT score is in about the 55th percentile for Villanova. Add thirty points to your CR score and you are at the 25th percentile in that area. If you can improve the CR score, your high GPA will give you a reasonable chance of admission.

What are my chances at getting accepted at cmu?

We Answered:

Do retake your SAT's. Otherwise you are doing extremely well and if you keep it up there should be no problem in your admission./

Best career to choose from?

We Answered:

Banking is a broad area, but the reality is the only one making the money at banks are the owners. These days most banks are publically traded and therefore not a small business like they used to be years ago.

Engineering and Chemical engineering are solid fields, but someone that would be working to find a replacement for petroleum products has a better chance at a longer career.

Do all pathologists deal with dead bodies?

We Answered:

Pathology is subdivided into two general divisions, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Medical students deciding to enter a Pathology residency may choose either or both divisions. If a Clinical tract is chosen alone, there would be no Anatomic training, i.e., autopsy, cytology, surgical, forensic, etc. Be aware that there are limited employment opportunities in Clinical Pathology. The majority of practicing pathologists sign out surgical samples (microscopic examination of tissue) as their primary job. Outside of teaching institutions, autopsy requests are decreasing in number. Realistically, Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and Hematopathology are the only paying clinical sub-specialities. Management positions once held by pathologists in the laboratory are now filled by clinical Ph.D's and experienced Medical Technologists, so the pathologist receives little to no additional compensation for laboratory over-site. The Medical Director of most hospital labs is the Surgical Pathologist, who relies heavily on the lab support staff.
