What jobs have these sort of characteristics? We Answered:
have you considered lecturing in economics / accounting / finance at a further education college? the money may not be as good as you are currently on (i earn about 35k per annum) but it is a challenging job, enables you to use your skills and pass these on, requires you to keep your own skills updated and think creatively and out of the box to pass on the knowledge in ways that are motivating. i moved from social work to education and it is the best move i made - good lecturers are hard to find and teh job is demanding but infinitely rewarding. also the ten weeks paid holidays every year are a very nice bonus! good luck in your career search whatever route you decide to takeCourtney Said:
What are the job functions of a corporate banker? Risk assessement? Treasury? We Answered:
-Sector profilehttp://news.efinancialcareers.com/SECTOR…
-Analysts usually start off with credit analysis. This involves looking over balance sheets and determining whether the client will follow through with paying back. Specifically, you're looking at coverage and leverage ratios and measuring the likelihood of default.
Corporate bankers typically focus on the securitization process (that involves alot of assets and divides them up into tradable shares) and the issuance of large loans. Such can be used for project finance. Among other things, you'll have exposure to hedging against foreign exchange risk and managing international systems of payment.
Treasury Management (from London School of Economics):
"To plan, organise and control cash and borrowings so as to optimise interest and currency flows, and minimise the cost of funds. Also to plan and execute communications programmes to enhance investors confidence in the firm."

Corporate Banking Job?We Answered:
I work at a Credit Union, and at our corporate office we have a lot of jobs. I work in the auditing/quality control department where we review the work that is done everywhere else. We have a loan department, where they review the loans and do the underwriting and stuff like that. The Treasury department decides where to invest the money. Then we have accounting, human resources, and all the other departments that most companies have. If you are more interested in the money side of banking, I would say you want to work in the office of the Treasurer, and learn about the investing side. It would be interesting.Good luck!

is there scope for executive jobs in banking for experienced executives in corporate credit? We Answered:
you'd likely have to prove yourself again in banking.seems like a good chance though if you start in sales in a factoring operation owned by a bank. You'd then be selling to people with jobs like your old one which should make for an easy transition.

Worth doing a part time MBA to switch from Mech Engineering to Finance (investment banking)? We Answered:
MBA in Finance is definitely needed. I'd say go for it if you're interested in it.And if you have a Mechanical Engineering degree you should be able to get a better job than the one you have now...unless you're getting paid a ridiculous amount of money righ tnow.
