Do both. Step down at your current job and work evenings and weekends and take the job at the credit union. Save the income from the shoe job for 6 months even if its 100.00 a week that's 2600 dollars in 6 months and put it into a ROTH IRA. You will excel at the bank job and if its on the forbes list its a stable company probably more so than the shoe store. But by doing both you can test the waters and send a message to your shoe dept managers that you willing to leave if they don't pay you more money so it will be a win win situation for you.
