Constance Said:

In the long run does it really matter where I go to get my MBA?

We Answered:

Part of the benefit of any academic program, and particularly an MBA is not in the program itself, but in the people that are in the program. University of Penn's Warton School of Business is largely held to be the best business school in the country, but you don't hear that everywhere. Instead, it's usually Harvard. Why? Because people who go to Harvard Business School use connections, mainly family, to get great jobs. They do something to earn those jobs afterwards of course, but they get them originally as much on who they are as what they might be able to accomplish. You can't say that all MBA programs are the same because you won't get this by attending an "unknown" school or an on-line program.

Not all schools have the same standards. The LA Clippers rarely win any NBA titles, why? Because they don't have as many allstar players as say the LA Lakers, or Chicago Bulls. Some schools just have better instructors, and the better the instructors are, the more they'll push you to learn.

The structure of the programs vary some too. Your program may require a thesis while others require more course credits. There is a research component to a thesis of course, but there more about proving what you already know than they are about learning new things, so judging your own need for knowledge will help you decide which type of program you should pursue.

I would suggest you spend alot of effort finding out how the school treats their students after the program. Some schools see you as nothing other than a paycheck. Once you paid your tuition, they do the bare minimum and then push you out the door. This is particularly true for alot of night programs that treat their night students like second (or fifth) class citizens. Don't just take the school's word for it though, find some people who graduate a year or two ago and see if the school provides and career assistance, or if they can ever ask any of their former professors questions. If not, go somewhere else.

In the end though, none of this will matter if you don't push yourself. I don't know about on-line programs, but I know that most in-class programs are highly competitive and you generally do have to earn your grade, in a way that no undergraduate program requires.

Oscar Said:

Do any of these SHORT paragraphs NOT make sense? :)?

We Answered:

"My keen interest in these subjects should translate into hard work, an inquisitive approach and ultimately, good examination results." This sounds negative, your use of "should" leaves things open to destiny and not hard work. How about:
"My keen interest in these subjects provides an additional driver for me to continue to work hard, and, backed up by my naturally inquisitive approach, will ultimately result in good examination results."

"Hopefully, my chosen courses will aid me significantly in the success I wish to hold in the future as an engineer" This doesn't scan well. Try this:
"Hopefully my chosen courses will assist me in achieving my ambition to be a successful engineer."

The rest sounds fine (but you need an apostrophe in school's)

Urgent:Advice needed-which is better from a long-term career perspective?

We Answered:

personally I would choose deutsche because Indian people have little initiative and are highly prejudiced towards people who are not like them. Plus, they are behind about 75 years socially from western civilization.

During this Credit crisis , are any American students able to contact banks in Europe or Japan to negotiate ?

We Answered:

No. Why would they?

I think now you could help me out?

This is a SCAM for so many reasons

The email address is not correct. All Deutsche Bank emails end in @db.com.

And that is not the Deutsche Bank UK phone number
http://www.db.com/unitedkingdom/content/… is the correct number for Deutsche Bank Tel: +44 20 754 58000
ALL Deutsche Bank London phone numbers start with +44 20 754 5xxxx. Only the last 4 digits change
Call their switchboard, speak to Human Resources and they'll confirm you are being scammed

The phone numbers for all businesses listed are not correct. Anything starting with +4470xx is an international redirect number that forwards your call to any number outside the UK. No UK business uses these numbers

There is no such thing as an Affadavit of Guarantee for employment in the UK. An Affadavit of Guarantee is nothing but a letter from the company on company letterhead stating your job title and salary. It doesn't cost anything, is not prepared by the employee, and is not procured through the Crown Court.

The sponsoring employer has to pay all corresponding visa costs, never the employee

No UK company ever offers a job to anyone they have not interviewed in person at least twice, and with banks you normally have 4 interviews. If you weren't flown to the UK for an interview or had an interview at Deutsche Bank's headquarters in your country, this is a fake job offer

The address they gave for the Morris Minner chambers does not exist It's a fake address used over and over again in various Nigerian scams. Just google the address and you'll see how many scambuster boards it appears on. The phone number is not UK number.

There is no Kerry Ben registered with the UK Bar Council so he is not a lawyer in the UK. There is no Morris Minner Chambers registered in the UK. Therefore the lawyer and the law chambers do not exist. And you would never contact a law chambers with regards to a visa.

Do not contact these people. Do not send money. Do not provide your passport or bank details. These are criminals out to steal your money

Discuss It!
