International Banking Jobs

Mark Said:

Working as a process executive in an international bank is a BPO job? I want answer starting with 'Yes' or 'No?

We Answered:

yes or no

Lawrence Said:

What jobs are available with a finance and international affairs major?

We Answered:

Those two majors are great for getting a job. If you are interested in government employment, I would recommend starting with the federal government job site, http://www.usajobs.gov

They have a Career Interest Center:
http://www.usajobs.gov/careers/index.asp?ic=1

You can take an Interest Guide Questionnaire, or just specify which field(s) you're interested in and they'll show you a list of related government positions. Click on Career Interest Areas, then Leading-Influencing, then scroll through the list of job titles. You'll see many related to finance, such as Financial Analysis. You'll also see job titles like International Relations, if that interests you. This site lists job titles that you would find both in the federal government and in state governments.

Once you get an idea of some of the job titles, go back to the usajobs homepage to do searches for open positions. This way you can get an idea of what an actual job would be like.

You can also check out http://www.usa.gov, the official website of the U.S. government. Click on the Jobs, Education & Volunteerism section:
http://www.usa.gov/Citizen/Topics/Education_Training.shtml

Also, take a look at the site Making the Difference:
http://www.makingthedifference.org/index.shtml

It's about working in public service (government) jobs, and it has good info about job types, internships, the federal student loan repayment program, and more. Right now under the Internships section, there is a posting for a financial auditor student intern in the Government Accountability Office. If you're a student, sounds like something you might be interested in!

Finally, if you don't want to work directly for the government, check out WetFeet's investment banking careers section:
http://www.wetfeet.com/Careers-and-Industries/Careers/Investment-Banking.aspx

Scroll down to the Career Tracks section - you might be interested in public finance.

I hope this helps answer your question. Good luck!

William Said:

Is working as a process executive in an international bank is a BPO job?

We Answered:

It depends on the organisation you are working with.

Pedro Said:

Working as a process executive in an international bank is a BPO job?

We Answered:

BPO = usiness process outsourcing (BPO) is the act of giving a third-party the responsibility of running what would otherwise be an internal system or service. For instance, an insurance company might outsource their claims processing program or a bank might outsource their loan processing system. Other common examples of BPO are call centres and payroll outsourcing.

Typically, companies that are looking at business process outsourcing are hoping to achieve cost savings by handing the work to a third-party that can take advantage of economies of scale by doing the same work for many companies. Or perhaps the cost savings can be achieved because labor costs are lower due to different costs of living in different countries.

In exchange for the potential cost savings, the company in question must relinquish control over an aspect of their business which explains why business process outsourcing is often reserved for non-critical, non-core type of work.

Hope this helped you: All the Best!.
