Banking is really hard to get into without a college degree these days. My boyfriend and I both work in a bank. I'm a part time teller, just working while I'm getting my degree. My boyfriend is now a branch assistant manager. He started as a full time teller, then became head teller. Soon after, he was promoted to customer service rep. Now, he is an assistant manager and will be branch manager of the next branch that is opening in the fall. My advice would be to start low until you gain experience. Without a formal education, it is your experience that will get you somewhere. Apply at small, local banks. You'll have to put in several years at a small organization, probably working harder than you want to and making less than you'd like to. If you pick up the job and concepts quickly, you'll find yourself moving on to a bigger bank in 10 years or so. The best paying positions are of course the executive positions but that's not realistic at this point. Branch managers make pretty decent money depending on the bank.
