You have misconceptions about all three fields.

1. Most accountants work for someone else -- and you will never have a problem getting a job.

3. They are not called Actuarians, they are called Actuaries. While no graduate school is required to become an Actuary, it is nearly impossible to become an actuary unless you have the equivalent of a graduate education. It is harder to become an actuary than it is to get a PhD. You are also wrong about the job possibilities for Actuaries. There would be no problem for an actuary getting a job in California. While many actuaries work for insurance companies, many also work in investments. In addition, to become an actuary, you will have to be trained in higher mathematics, finance, accounting and economics.

Depends. Pediatrics is fun with kids but is pretty badly paying from what I hear. Accounting is well-paying but boring if you don't like math. I don't know what Actuarial accounting is though
