What do you guys think I should do for my MMA career? We Answered:
You need to first figure out what's available to learn. Do some research and find out what martial arts are being taught in your area. You should then check out some videos of those martial arts, to try and decide what arts suit you. Also check with those local schools to see if you can sit in on some classes, or even participate in some classes as a trial. That way you can get a feel for the arts being taught, for the instructors, and the environment. This really is a personal decision. We can't just tell you what to practice based on your height and how much you can bench, because any size person can pick up any martial art. And if we tell you to practice a martial art you really don't enjoy, then you won't be passionate about it and might lose interest. How long it will take for you to get good is up to you, really. It depends on how fast of a learner you really are, and how passionate you are about all this. It depends on how often you go to class, how hard they work you in class, and how hard you work yourself outside of class. Athleticism isn't really the issue; it's learning technique and application that takes time. A lot of schools/gyms won't even let you spar until you've mastered a good portion of the curriculum or have reached a certain belt level/rank. I can't imagine getting a fight without a year or more of training under your belt. But I suppose it might happen if you're some kind of combat prodigy.
Best of luck.

how do you get a job for ma after getting out of school if they want 2 to 3 year experience? We Answered:
I feel for you. This is not an uncommon problem. Does the career center offer any job placement? It is always a good idea to go to a school that has a very high placement ratio for graduates. Ask your mom to find people already working in that field and talk to them about how they got in. Sometimes you can take a different position in a business that has the job you want and show them that you are a good dependable worker and then move into the desired position. Be sure to look into any county, city or state job placement offices too. Be as professional as you can. Have someone help you write a resume, and always dress well, be on time, etc, to show the company that you would be a good employee.Jean Said:
