The management is a joke. They have completely untracked the former dynasty with some god-awful moves over the years. I hope they don't suffer the added ignomy of moving (which I doubt will happen - but won't bet my life on it).

At least they are consistent and honest about it unlike a particular team that hides behind the facade of all those "We Came In 2nd" beach towels hanging from the rafters of their home arena. I wonder if the fans of the latter realize the team is supposed to win Stanley Cups instead of trying to win the title of most penalized team each season.

Anyway, I think the Islanders are on their way back to respectability. I'd feel much more confident about their stability if they had a more competent owner.

I'd wait a bit. With the whole fiasco going on in Albany...where things like the discounted power program having expired (which was a big reason Yahoo picked NY), plus getting a first-hand glance at the disaster that is this area and this state...they might decide no way and turn around. Frankly any company worth their soul would hightail out of here. It sucks.

If I were you, wait, or apply at another of their facilities. I'm waiting for my husband's company to come to its senses and leave so we can leave this h***hole.

Lots of great things while you continue your ed....you might try any school, most have programs for teachers aid and will help pay your expenses...you could also try Social Services...working with abused or foster home kids, in NY we have a program for that, hospitals sometimes have openings to aid with children with long term care. You can go to any library and look in the DOT, Directory of Occupational Titles, or go to your College resource for help in getting a job...good luck, and great choice.

They aren't technically a fraud, but they aren't the best film school out there, especially not the best in NY. Students attending there can get a good education, but their rep isn't the greatest.

Film is a hard enough career to get into. Why handicap yourself by attending a school like this, if you have any other options open to you?
