there r some places called temp agencies,try searching for some in your area and around you...u have to put an application in online or maybe even goto the office and apply,but they will call u when they find a job opening for you and such,most of them r temperary till your 90 days of course then they decide if they want you as full time or not...some of them r even really good jobs good starting pay good benefits and such...i dont know how it is in ny tho im from p.a...thot id try to help tho

I'm a DJ myself..but I only do it as a hobby. The equipment you need depends on if you wanna spin records, CDs or just DJ on a laptop. Doing it on a laptop is cheaper because you can Download software and most software would mix songs for you. You can mix records and be really genuine with turntables but the cost of a mixer and 2 turntables is...avg good turntable = $200x2 plus a mixer($100 about) equal $500 tax excluded...then you gotta look for a record shop(which is kinda rare) and buy the right records that sound good.

After you finished getting your equipment..you'll have to practice for months and months to perfect your music and style. When you're ready..you have to promote yourself...start giving out mixtapes at clubs, schools..any place that has teens and 20-something people..Oh and start doing small parties for your close friends and family..that way your friend's friends can spread the word....from there anything could happen..sky's the limit.
