Morris Said:

Feeling like I can't do my dream career job?

We Answered:

Easy, you dont have a problem except you listen to much to what other losers say. If money is the problem, buy a little at a time and build up. YOU CAN DO IT, if you want to. To hell with what I say, what do YOU say.

How do I work the built in webcam for my new Lenovo laptop?

We Answered:

Read the manual. It is on one of the CDs if not a printed one.

Glenda Said:

How can I get the school to provide me a computer at my desk?

We Answered:

There are a couple options:

1. You can buy a laptop of your own because I can be 50% sure that the computer they are going to give you is going to be a cheap computer that freezes alot and doesnt allow you to do certain things so I would just go to the Apple store or buy a PC and use that at your desk.

2. Set up a meeting with the principle and discuss that you are unable to thoroughly get through your job without the use of an in office computer.

I totally understand this issue. I always hate working in the computer lab as well as I always have children peering over my shoulder.

My resume seems not to grab employers attention. What do I need to do to improve it.?

Rough guide:
- Treat it as QnA. Qualifications should be "answers" to the job requirements or job on hand.
- Words paraphrased in "..." denotes subjective phrases. Let the hirer be the judge. Each industry and company is different.
- Cover letter and keep your cv to 3 sides tops. Corporations have lots to go through.
- Try submitting to the same company in 2 or 3 intervals, say 1 to 3 months, sometimes HR or payroll takes the top 50 letters and junks the other 1000 (although they should not be doing so).

Qualifications:
"Excellent communication" such as.. ? organised meeting for 40 people ? and;
"computer skills" with what programs ? 50 wpm ? sorting ?

"Dependable, pleasant...", how so?making sure boss is on time for meeting?
"pleasant"; how so? Greeting customers ? despite nasty customer ?
"hardworking?" how so? putting in more than x hours when y hours required of you? or getting x task when y required ?

"Good" at multitasking, such as? making reservations whilst doing x and y ?

"Proven" administrative, secretarial and general office experience, what are administrative, secretarial, general office duties ?

Over 4 years "proven experience" in the administrative field,
at least here, 4 years is quanitfied, some companies regard 4 years as too much experience, ie too expensive staff, whilst others regard 4 years as being junior. What did you do in the admin. field ?

I would like input on deciding on a career.?

I agree with headgirl . Accounting can pay very well, (even with just an Associates Degree, which can usually be obtained with just passing Elementary Algebra ) but is pretty boring and monotonous. I've been working in an accounting environment doing Accounts Receivables for over ten years and I'm burnt out on it. But that's just me.

Accounting seems like a perfect fit for you. There isn't much technology involved besides some accounting programs and using MS Excel, but other than that, a monkey could learn AS400 (accounting program) or anything similar.

Being organized is mandatory as is being able to pay attention to detail. Being bilingual is a plus too. You might have to deal with Hispanic customers and knowing Spanish would be huge. You should try some accounting courses and see if you like it.

Good luck with your studies and choices.
