Janet Said:

Miami Heat! Center possibility with Ian Mahinmi?

We Answered:

D-League stats don't generally translate to NBA stats very well (unless you are playing for the Golden State Warriors)

however, he will come cheap and if they can't get anybody proven he is worth a look, but he is nothing to get excited about

Cheryl Said:

Parents, I need some advice please. Am I over thinking or should I just go with the flow and see what happens

We Answered:

You are total normal and I think that all single moms go through a stage in their lives where they question if what they can give to there kids is enough. Just know that the child you are raising doesn't care how much you give to him but needs the love and attention more than anything. Get out of the depression and keep up the positive attitude and better yourself as you can. It may not be immediately but it will happen. You will probably not be by yourself forever and that will help with your finances and being able to get into a different area for your child.

Mathew Said:

Would Koufax carry less mythology if his career had been backward?

We Answered:

I think it definitely would have tarnished his reputation (Think Steve Carlton hanging on with the Indians and Twins...). Going out on top has its benefits.

As for Cooperstown, he probably would still make it. That five or six year span of his was perhaps the best such stretch in history - regardless if it came early or late in his career. I think that would have been enough to carry him into the Hall, perhaps not on the first ballot, though. In some ways that may comparable to Ken Griffey - during the 90s he was the best player in the game but after he was traded to Cincinnati injuries took their toll and he spent the last half of his career as a shadow of his former self. While we wonder what his career totals might have been if he stayed healthy, everyone seems to agree that he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

But, Koufax's career was what it was and we have this mythic figure by which all other pitchers are measured at one time or another. And I like it that way, it adds to the romance of the game.
