It is great that you intend on going to college for 4 or 6 years. Don't change your mind on that! Get the best grades that you can in high school. Get the highest grade point average that you can in college. It sounds like you're dong very well so far. You can ask any law enforcement agency in your area if they offer an explorer program. During college, try to get an internship with a law enforcement agency. Do you volunteer with the ambulance corp? If not, do some regular volunteer work. Volunteer work always looks good on resumes and applications. You could volunteer at a humane society or with Big Brothers Big Sisters for example. Become the best writer that you can. Don't do anything illegal. Maintain a great reputation. If you have or get a job, keep a good work record. Don't get bad credit. Practice to improve your observation and memory skills. Become as physically fit as you can. Best of luck!

More important than Higher Education is applied knowledge. It is important to find places to volunteer in the areas that you are interested in. Find people who you want to be. Let them mentor you. With that said.

Biology is a good general major. You can minor in your more specified area of biology or zoology. You may even want to consider pre-vet.

I have my Associates in Early Childhood education. I work as a residential counselor at a girls group home. When I started back to schhol, I had the intentions of opening my own daycare,but while taking the classes,I leaned more toward actual physical teaching..but by the time I got to about 2 semesters till graduation, I realized that it wasnt the teaching as much as advocacy and counseling. So really if you have a rough idea of what you want to do, then start with your prerequistes and then also speak with a student advisor. This two things will give you a better and clearer picture of which route you want to take. And yes there are most definitely ups and downs,but thats with all jobs. I love the job I have, and I like making a difference in my girls lives.

Talk to the counselor at your school to be sure that you really can't salvage anything. Also make sure that the career education center will accept next year if you drop out now.

Maybe you can even go ahead and get a head start on next year by taking credit recovery or on-line classes.

Looks like you are thinking right now. Just plan it step by step and check with those in charge to be sure that you can do what you want later.

I think you need to enter to the website www.dec.edu and then select the Make Up career and then click on the catalog. There you going to see all the information you need. Is really cool

I think past recovered addicts should work with people in rehabs... They can truly relate to the person. No one can understand what it's like or what they're going through unless they've been there.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't work with addicts but I'm just saying that most people don't know very much about what they're going through and the feelings they're feeling.

And for the education path.. obviously psychology.
