Nicholas Said:
Any good IT schools or centers where they offer Comptia, CCNA, etc certifications in Chicago? We Answered:
Yeah but the college grads working at MickeyD's don't have IT degrees, they have degrees in English Literature. Many of the community colleges in the Chicago area have very good CCNA and CompTIA prep classes; both College of DuPage and Moraine Valley Community College have very good programs in these areas, and at a much lower cost than you'd pay a commercial training firm.
If your only ambition is to be a computer or network tech for your entire career, the certifications will work just fine for you. But if you think you might want to move up someday you'll hit a roadblock without a degree.
