Find A Career

Heidi Said:

How difficult is it to find a job/career in Meteorology?

We Answered:

If you own a degree - or any other qualification - then you'll already be in advace of of the crowd when it comes to hunting for vocations. My pal has a degree and he wasn't certain what direction to go with it, but he found some good guidance on the site in the resource box below which helped him to decide that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is loads of guidance on the site regarding other vocations.

We Answered:

Hi,
I found a good website which is an index for all legitimate jobs from home. There are jobs like "researchers, data entry, ad testers, writers, sales & customer service and more. No scams and none of the listed jobs charges any fees.

Is it hard for a male to find a career in the field of Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonography?

We Answered:

Out of the 4 Sonographers I'm working with at the hospital for my clinicals, 1 of them is a male. Both of my DMS teachers at school are males. So no, being male in this profession doesn't necessarily make it more difficult to find a job. There are some scans, such as breast and transvaginal that will require a female chaperone in the room, so the only reason I would think employers may be hesitant is because of the extra precautions they have to take for the patients. As long as you are sensitive to that and go along with all rules, there shouldn't be a problem.

However, it is true that most men in sonography tend to specialize in Vascular or maybe Echocardiography.

How do I find a career based on my interests?

We Answered:

Myers-Briggs personality tests are real informative. They base your personality on several questions you can answer on the internet. Look up careers for ENTJ,ISTJ and find where you can take a test.

There are books you can buy but it comes down to what do you see yourself doing? Place yourself into each of the above interests you have and see what you would enjoy most. Some interests fall into the avocation category which means it's something you do besides your real job or career. You have to put the pieces together and do what you are doing now and that is asking questions. You will figure it out yourself but it is a good idea to ask others so you can bounce ideas. Do you want to be a scientist? Doctor? Social Worker? Music teacher or Conductor? Actor? You could do acting on the side and still choose one of the other vocations. Go shadow a person who has a vocation in one of these fields and see what a day is like in that specific vocation. Good luck.
