Todd Said:

Dirk Nowitzki IsThe Best Player In the NBA AFTER Reading My new Article FIRST Tell Me Why I'm Wrong?

We Answered:

Great facts man.

You are 100% correct.
I just get targeted when I try to tell them and they act like I'm the only one in the world that thinks this. Your not allowed to have opinions in this section.

I agree though, hopefully they get it, that he can have a case.

FOR PEOPLE THAT WANT TO BRING UP RINGS:
only 1/30 teams win a ring a year. On average an NBA player averages 10 years in the league, if you do the math a player only has a 3% chance of winning a ring, and when you have 1 or 2 other 50 greatest players that raises your chances, so Dirk should not be condemned for not winning one yet. He's never played with an inside player and im pretty sure if he had Shaq he would win a ring too, because he has had success with no other allstar or great player in 06 on his team. Kobe needs an inside player for playoff success.

He never got past the first round without one. As good as he is he needs a post player while Dirk is both the post and outside player.

EDIT WITH MORE: But really, thats what I try to say and these kids don't get it. Team win rings, not players. Some superstars have been blessed with Role players that step up when it matters most. I can think of many examples...

First off a superstar doesn't always have it going, and the superstars that have their role players step up and make plays when need usually are winners. Many great players that they say are better because of rings were fortunate to have great role players.

EX) Kobe in the 2009 semi finals game 7 had a very poor game and I think he failed to reach 20. (One of those times where other players are needed) and Gasol stepped in with 21pts and like 18 rebs with Odom chipping in too. People don't look at the little things like that, but here I am pointing out everything for them.

EX) In 2008 semi finals, Duncan was poor the entire series and averaged 15ppg and was outplayed by chandler and West. But players like Manu and Parker took the burden off him by stepping up.

Players like Dirk or LeBron have carried their teams and when they go down, their role players go down with them and don't make the big plays that Duncan or Kobe's teammates have done in the past. They just go down with them.

Kobe needed Fisher to make that big shot against Orlando last year in game 4. Kobe needed Ariza to make those key shots when he wasn't making them.

Its the exact reason I don't rate players higher because of rings, but IMPACT. Because TEAMS win rings and the superstar that has the role players that will make the plays when they are down and can't do it will win.

EDIT: Now if Duncan and Kobe didn't have role players that stepped up and did those things, and they as a result end up losing, does that make them chokers all the sudden? Thats why their "choker" system is soooo flawed.

@ Astro boy: So your discrediting Dirk on defense but your telling us Melo is better when he isn't that great of a defender either? Dude your judging him off what he was early in his career. Judge him off what he is NOW. He stopped Tim Duncan on a few different occasions and plays face up players well like Okur and Bargnani. He is the best bigman in the NBA at stripping the ball in the post and he always averages a combined 2.3+ blocks/ steals which is good. He plays his man good 1 on 1 and gets crucial steals with quick hands.

He is a good defender and not a liability. People only remember what he was in 2002.

Tommy Said:

Will there ever be another Power Forward like Kevin Garnett or another Center like Shaquille O'Neal?

We Answered:

Duncan is better than Garnett. You're giving way too much credit to Parker and Ginobili. Neither of them are anywhere close to being Hall of Famers. In fact, Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell have more combined All-Star games than Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. And Robinson was only effective for one of those championships. Without Duncan, the Spurs spend most of the 2000s out of the playoffs. Garnett could light up a stat sheet, but he lost in the first round of the playoffs his first 7 tries, while Duncan has only lost 2 first round playoff series in his career.

Garnetts career stats :
Regular Season - 19.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.6 blocks, 1.4 steals
Playoffs - 20 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.4 blocks, 1.3 steals
1 ring, 1 MVP, 0 Finals MVP 4 First Team All-NBA, 3 Second Team All-NBA, 2 Third Team All-NBA, 10 All-Defensive Teams.

Duncans career stats :
Regular Season - 21.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.3 blocks, .8 steals
Playoffs - 23 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.6 blocks, .7 steals
4 rings, 2 MVPs, 3 Finals MVPs, 9 First Team All-NBA, 4 Second Team All-NBA, 1 Third Team All-NBA, 13 All-Defensive Teams.

Not only has Duncan accomplished a good amount more, but he also spend 4 years in college, while Garnett had a head start coming out of high school..

Anyways, to get to your real question, we will see another Garnett. It might be a down time for bigs, but they will get good again. We will never see another Shaq, someone with that size that can move that quick.

who are your favorite basketball players of all-time? top 10?

We Answered:

One of my Fave Questions :)

1. Vince Carter - The Reason i started watching the Raptors and started loving basketball. This dude is just crazy. He's clutch, amazing shooter and his dunking is by far the best ever. Sad he doesn't have a ring. If he doesn't make HOF, its a shame.

2. Kobe - Loved his ball skills the minute i first saw him, what can i say the mans a winner.

3. Ben Wallace - One of the best defender of all time, sure he's not the best of offencive players, but what he did defensively makes Big Ben my fave Center of all time.

4. Kareem - Sadly i wasn't born when Kareem played, but the tapes and videos I've seen of Kareem were absolutely mind blowing. SKY HOOK BABY!

5. Steve Nash - Yes Captain Canada, I have to rep Canada's finest athlete (next to Gretzky of course), future HOF'er no doubt.

6. Jordan - G.O.A.T, Nuff Said'

7. Keyon Martin - Aggressive, athletic, shot blocker, everything you want in a PF. Could have been one of the best, but the injury but stung him hard, pretty sad. K-Mart still is my fave PF of all time.

8. Chris Bosh - Yes he did leave but i still love the guy for giving us 7 amazing years. Hope him the best in the future.

9. Kevin Durant - Rising Star, gonna be a force to be reckoned with.

10. Allen Iverson - At 6 feet he truly describes free-less, one of the most skilled player every to step on the court. Be another great player with no ring.

HM: DeMar Derozan (Currently my Fave player, Rising Star), Monta Ellis, Iggy, Gary Payton, Shaq, Magic Johnson, And Mr. Clutch Reggie Miller.

Who is the best pointguard and power forward tandem in the NBA today? and why?

We Answered:

Nash and Stoudamire are awesome. NormallyI would want to go with Billups and Wallace but they don't seem to both have awesome games on the same night as often, they take turns, while Nash and Stoudamire will put up 50-60 points together
