Howard Career Center
Amanda Said:
Who is the next bonafide center in the NBA?We Answered:
I have to say it is going to be Dwight Howard as the next great big man for the game. I'm a Rockets fan so Ive grown up watching Moses and Hakeem, seen Kareem, Robinson, Ewing, Shaq live against my Rockets.Yao is a good center, but he has limitations on what he does. Dwight has great skill and he is still very young remember he came in right out of high school.
Also the game is changing. Its no longer Centers like Kareem, Hakeem, Ewing that go into the post and command the ball. The game moves more, todays big men are like Varejo, Noah amd Scola and Norwitski that run run runand are athletic enough to get the long rebounds on missed 3's.
There will be some throwbacks like I think Kevin Love of the Twolves and Brooke Lopez with the Nets are going to be, but the glory days of the dominant Center are out...for now.
Came back and read the SI article, yeah youve got good points. But based on his athleticism I say he will develope his offensive game, Hakeem did, Shaq did. He might not be that good but he has the potential to. I dont think he will turn into Michael Olowakandi.

Shaquille O'neal or Dwight Howard? We Answered:
I don't know if he'll reach Shaq's level at his prime when it took multiple defenders to slow him down. Howard doesn't have the offensive game that Shaq has or had during his greatest height. Shaq definitely played better with the Magic he took them to the NBA Finals. If Howards is able to dominate the post with a reliable jumpshot and maybe a hook or something and improves his free throw shooting teams won't have to worry about Howard at the end of games for the money shot.I think Oden might become dominant if he's completely healed from his knee surgery. Just because he has some nice post moves and he's extremely well developed defensively. Rebounding and blocking.
Howard has had issues staying a little motivated when it comes to devoting his energy to rebounding. Shaq averaged 25 and 12. Howard might only average 17 and 10 in his career. You can really note the difference in offensive production.

Do you think Dwight Howard has a lot of promise? do you think he will continue to get better and has a great? We Answered:
Well he's certainly became more aggressive in utilizing his size and strength to overpower defenders. Biggest flaw of his game, is that he just relies mainly on his athleticism. Instead of always trying to dunk the ball, I would like to see him improve in his passing and low-post game (footwork and positioning). Developing a mid-range jumper to keep the defender honest, wouldn't be so bad as well. I like his passion for the game but he needs to tone it down sometimes in order avoid anymore technical fouls.Shaq is still the true "Superman." However, Howard definitely has the potential and the youth to bring his game to another level, but it all comes down to how badly he wants to improve.

Michael Ruffin is best center hands down?We Answered:
As a Wizards fan, I never thought I'd miss him...but we could really use him again this year!Samantha Said:
What center would you pick for the Orlando Magic All-Time starting lineup? (Shaq or D-Howard)?We Answered:
What did Dwight Howard do better than Shaq? Shaq was a better scorer, play maker, defender, post player, etc. On top of that, he's much more dominant than Dwight. Shaq scored 10 points more than Howard while still grabbing as many rebounds and shooting as good from the field. And do you know how great a big man has to be to win a scoring title?Shaq is the greatest Center to play for Orlando, it's pretty obvious.
