Corey Said:
How do I know if I need to replace the camshaft postion sensor? Dodge/Plymouth Neon?We Answered:
if a cam sensor was bad it would set a code and turn on the engine light. the engine would crank for 15-20 seconds before it starts. you need a professional to look at it. the students could replace the sensor if it actually was bad, its only 2 bolts, but i don't know if i would put alot of faith in the diagnosis if your engine light is not on. replacing a cam is something they should not do, it is a major job. the cam would only have to be replaced if the magnet fell off. you cannot replace the magnet. (the magnet if what the sensor reads off of)
