We Answered:

Nobody really likes interviews, they can be nerve wrecking.

--Don't show them you're nervous. Sometimes nervousness makes us talk allot which turns into rambling and you end up saying stuff interviewers really don't want to hear.

--Dress appropriately for guys, dress shirt, slacks. Girls no low neck blouses or opened-toe shoes. Well groomed, nice hair, makeup, clean nails.

--Have some notes ready, ask them questions as well. This shows that you are interested about the job. It's ok to write notes yourself. Especially if you have several interviews lined up you don't want to mix anybody up.

--DO NOT CHEW GUM.

--DO NOT HAVE YOUR CELL PHONE ON

--And most importantly just be yourself. After all if you get hired this is who they are gonna get to know anyway.

We Answered:

Yes my university has a career center. However, I opt not to use it because the career center caters towards the "big crowd". I don't feel a part of that crowd. Beyond that, everything they already have to tell is on their website or I can find on the internet. In fact, I have access to much more information instantly on the internet than I can get from the counselours at the career center. It's just a waste of time going there.

A suit isn't necessary for this, but if you have one that's appropriate, why not impress them? Also, I think a business portfolio is best, but maybe that's the same as a notebook folder. A shoulder bag may not make the right impression at a university if students commonly use them as book bags.
