Speak with your counselor on this.The problem with some of the Vo-Tech programs is that they can change your graduation requirements. You still graduate but with a different set of electives completed. The issue here is if your college of choice will look positively or negatively on your transcript.
In all honesty, you look like you are on the right track. Doing such a program may allow you to find what you really like and help determine what you want to be after college. (Take this from someone who went 4 years for a specialized degree then got out and hated the work, blah!)
Your dad is rather negative. Have you asked him why he is negative? Does this require him to pay out money or to have to go pick you up for school? There has got to be some additional reasoning behind this.
