Theresa Said:

How do i change careers and become a manager?

We Answered:

You need to apply for openings with company that have management positions to fill. There should be companies that have entry level management trainee positions open. Read the classifies (paper and electronic). Contact placement agencies (ones that do not charge fees). Your college should have a job placement office. Consider going back to college part time to get a degree in business management. Good luck.

Actuarial Science degree online?

We Answered:

Not really - there are a number of legitimate colleges and universities that will allow you to do some core courses online, but the online-only universities are scams - nobody legitimate takes their degrees for employment or for academic advancement.

Dora Said:

degree in finance/economics or finance/actuarial studies?

We Answered:

I don't know how things are in Australia, but I can tell you how things are in America. You definitely don't need an actuarial science degree to become an actuary. What you need to do is pass the exams and take the courses required for the "Validation by Educational Experience" (you can do this after college if you want, but you should try to get it out of the way if you can). You can look online or talk to your counselors about which courses fulfill the requirements.

You do need good mathematical skills to be an actuary, especially in probability and statistics. If you don't want to be an actuary, then majoring in actuarial science can be one of the worst things you do. It is such a limited major, and if you want a job in another area, you will have to really convince the employer that this job is what you want to do as opposed to being an actuary. Economics, however, is a much broader major. An economics major can be an actuary (provided he takes enough math courses) and do many other things. If you want a career in finance, an economics degree is far superior to an actuarial science degree.

Again, I am telling you how things are in America. Things could be different in Australia, so you should talk to your college counselors.

Joseph Said:

Which Undergraduate Subject can lead me to one of the Best Career in Future? (Salary Based)?

We Answered:

Here's a list from PayScale.com that you might find helpful: http://www.payscale.com/best-colleges/de… It ranks undergraduate majors based on salary potential. You'll see the median starting and mid-career salary for each major. Engineering definitely ranks high on the list, as do economics and math.

Hope that helps
