Am I Too Old To Change Careers

Bertha Said:

I am 36 years old and want to change careers am I too old for this or out of my mind ?

We Answered:

You are certainly not out of your mind and not old by any means. People I know got their nursing degrees when they were well over 45 and are working, making good money.

The medical career is extremely rewarding. You feel like you're part of the solution rather than part of the problem. I highly recommend it.

Can't recommend schools, etc., in your area, but wish you all the very best!

im 32 am i too old to change careers?

I think you've answered your own question man. You said it is something you want to try because you'd like to attempt a broader approach to the psychology of sales. You also said that advertising has piqued your curiosity. Furthermore, you've been in the financial industry for 10 years; that's long enough to learn pretty much whatever you need to learn about any given industry. If you want to switch, 32 is incredibly young for someone who is "done" with the first chapter of his career.

I think you have to go for it. You'll always wonder about it if you don't go for it now. You might have to take a pay cut at first, but I'd say it's worth it and it won't even be that much since you have substantial sales experience. Good luck to you.

Am I too old for a career change?

We Answered:

Never too old. I worked in the medical insurance field for 25 years. Hated my boss-walked in and quit. Went to massage therapy school and love it! I am much older than 40.. : ] Remember, you will live longer if you do something you are passionate about. And look at the great role model you will be for your children!
