Considering a career change to virology, advice from those in the field? We Answered:
What exactly do you mean by "virology"? This could be anything from a clinical lab scientist working with viral cultures to a head researcher on HIV. Clinical lab science is a good field (I myself am one); it is in high demand and needs only a one or two year internship after a bachelor's degree. Programs are hard to find and selective to get into though.Roger Said:
Web design career change -advice please? We Answered:
John is quite right! Anyone with 3 hours experience with Dreamweaver or any other IDE calls himself a "Web Designer". Since they are incapable of doing anything right, and want to grab clients, web design prices have dramatically fallen (10$/page average nowaday).HOWEVER...
There is still plenty of room for real professionals web DEVELOPERS (a totally different kind of fish): they make the web designs to WORK.
But, for that, professionals need a huge experience, and in many languages, together with "some" design experience.
A designer will struggle to make a few hundreds a month.
A developer (such as I) struggles to get clients prepared to pay the right amount for the right job. (I do half a dozen contracts a year, but none below 3k).

Please help I need career change advice? We Answered:
im not sure how the education system works in Oz but chances are you would need to go back to study.in the UK you have two choises
1. finish your degree then take a PGCE in Primary or Secondary, which is a postgrad course.. writing essays and teaching at the same time
2. the second option is to go another root, where you do something similar to a pgce, however you arent in a uni (you will be more dependant) no essays involved, however you wont have extra support where you might need it most.
you will be getting better pay.
you wont get a qualification out of it but it will be one or two years which will lead up to you being a qualified teacher.
(i dont know the name of these courses,. but since you are in Oz it wouldnt make a difference to you)
what you would need to do is type in teaching in google and see what happens
visit univeristies in your area if need be and ask them what you need to do, they will be happy to help evening though you arent enrolling on their courses!

Can anyone help me with some career change advice ?We Answered:
Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and say, "Yes, this job pays well, but I've had enough ...." and go on to something that you will be happier doing. Other times you can find a compromise. Are there any animal rights groups in London? Can you work with them on a volunteer basis until such a time as they are hiring managers or administrative personnel at a salary that you could live on?Whatever your decision, good luck with it.

Career change advice?We Answered:
Wow, this is one of the first times I agree with a previous answer. I don't want to repeat what a prevous response is, so I will just say maybe it's time to try another alternative as opposed to consistently doing what society says is the way to success. Another job probably will not give you the fulfillment you want out of life. It hasn't worked for 95% of the population, so what are the odds that it will work for you? Find your why, then find a way to achieve it.Best wishes...
