I am a chef looking for a career change? We Answered:
Have you thought about consulting? I know a guy who is a former chef that knows a lot about setting up new restaurants, and he goes into hotels, etc. to tell them what type of equipment to buy, etc.Good luck!

Im currently working as a chef but want a complete change of career? We Answered:
Your comments are a bit contradictory really, you want a complete change of career but you're looking to use your experience as a chef? It seems to me that for a complete change of career you would have to bite the bullet and re-train, or get a job where you could train whilst working. If you're happy to do more of a sideways shift, how about investigating setting up as a Nutritionist, or moving into teaching? or perhaps you could approach the big producers and get a job in the lab (Q.C. or similar). I'm just thinking out loud here (except I'm writing not talking.....!!)Nathan Said:

I've always liked to cook and I'm in need of a career change, should I study to be a chef?We Answered:
it isn't always as glamourous as TV makes it appear. I would ask a local chef if you could intern with him for a week and se if you really like the job.Samuel Said:
How do I pursue a career change from truck driver to culinary arts(chef) without taking a loan out for school? We Answered:
Apply for financial aid. Fill out the FAFSA and get money that you dont have to pay back. If you don't make very much, you can get almost all of your school paid for. Also, choose a school that uses FACTS tuition management, this allows you to pay your balance off monthly including books.Kyle Said:
career change from chef to surgical technologist is this a good road to go graduated in 1980 took med classes? We Answered:
We had a x-ray tech program start at the local junior college start up a couple years ago. First two classes were full of people who started with something else including a student who was a world class chef(she lost her sense of smell). So you shouldn't have any problem other than the "paying your dues" part.GOOD LUCKnight shift x-ray tech
