Unsure what environment you intended to work as a nurse, but we have a huge nursing shortage in this country. Premium salaries are being paid in all arenas, hospitals, medical offices, long-term care, insurance companies, etc. Sorry to add to your stress, but as a health care administrator for over 10 years, we need nurses.

At any rate, you might want to volunteer at your local zoo, or get involved with a dog training club or at a kennel.

Try nursing for awhile, unless you can afford to go to vet school right away.

It is never to late and one good way of finding out if you will enjoy this type of work and also get foot in the door and work on training is to become a health care assistant.All hospitals have these and you do not have to be trained they can train you. Some jobs require your nvq level 2 but ohers do not as very often nhs like to train their people themselves so here is a site to join for free and it sends you jobs to apply on line.

you would have to get a bachelors degree, do good enough on med school exams, get accepted into medical school, and survive 3+ yrs there, go $100,000 into debt and then work as an intern for a few yrs

"Abby" on the TV show ER did that - worked as a nurse, then went to med school and became a doctor
