Is their grants available for funding courses if your self employed so i can change my career? We Answered:
I don't think so.Curtis Said:
I'm doing a career change which requires going to school. Are there any Grants available for that?We Answered:
Go to the school you are interested in and talk to the financial aide officer. They should be able to help.I went to college about 20 years after I had graduated from high school. They got me a Basic Opportunity Grant (BOG) which paid my tuition. I only had to buy my books or needed personal equipment. I don't know if it is still available, but the financial aide officer should be able to find some thing for you.

Are there any grants available, while starting a new career? We Answered:
No such thing -- so before you make the jump, be sure to:- have a backup plan
- get a part time job
- start another business on the side
- make sure you've got savings
- make sure you've got family to support you
The government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.
For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document - you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant. Grants have objectives, and the grant applications that best captures the grant's objectives are approved.
There is a stringent review process through a committee composed of federal employees and selected experts in the field. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.
Try looking for grants from the government's main grant website -- GRANTS.GOV http://www.grants.gov

Career Change?We Answered:
I think you have two options:1. Get a more interesting job and take the pay cut. Live through your job and get a lot of satisfaction.
2. Stay with the job you have (because you need the pay), Start something "on the side". This could be a hobby, work for a charity or even start a small business. Anything that gives meaning, satisfaction and makes you happy. Give it some serious thought about what really interests you and what you would like to do.
