Career Change Job

Carla Said:

I am so bored at my job. What major career change did you make that ended up successfull?

We Answered:

You should trying working at home. I have 3 friends that do it and I have recently started myself after seeing them make full time income from home. There are a lot of scams so be careful. The health benefits company I work for is legitimate and is partnered with major retailers for corporate discounts so that should say something about their validity. I am making good money to start. I know we can't post links so if you would like more info email me and I will send you the link to check it out. I'm getting tired of the 9-5 routine and I can see this will help me get to the point where I can stay at home instead and work on my own schedule. Good luck!!!

Career change: a new job that will make me travel to remote areas?

We Answered:

If you are not certified, try to get a Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification, an APICS CPIM or the new CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Specialist) and become an ISO Registrar. It will take some time. Use your own funds so no company has inherent rights over your future. With all of those credentials, and your experience, you may go into consulting. This way you will be in control of where, when and even if you want to work. You may want start to publish about Operations and Materials Management applied to every day life (i.e. Lean manufacturing principles in the kitchen) which will give you exposure and credibility. You may also join the armed forces reserves like I did.

Senior Citizens: What career/job have you worked for most of your life? Did you change careers/jobs a lot?

We Answered:

I worked in various positions in the same municipal department for 41 years, and retired at 59. It was frustrating at times, political at times, rewarding most of the time, but retiring was the most enjoyable part, and the pension was fantastic.
