Career Change Out Of Teaching

Career change OUT of teaching.?We Answered:
Here's a list of some possibilities, http://tefltips.blogspot.com/2008/10/tra…Samantha Said:
Fiance is not being supportive at ALL for my potential career change to teaching, red flag or legit concern? We Answered:
Well, it doesn't sound like she's absolutely dead set against it. It sounds like she has some legitimate concerns and expressed them. Honest communication is good. She doesn't have to agree with you all the time.Come back to her with A PLAN. What classes do you have to take to qualify for a teaching license in your chosen field(s)? Can you take them in the evenings while you hold your current job? How long will it take? How much will it cost? What are the chances of your being able to find a position in your local area? (There are only so many coaching and teaching positions.) Can you cut some costs and save more money now to help offset the cut in salary? On the other hand, using the training and skills you have now, are there other more downturn-proof jobs you could move into?
She may be worried that you are just throwing your hands up in the air and taking what looks like an easy way out without thinking about it. A Plan would show her it is feasible, and a good choice that you have carefully considered.
