Survey: Would you change for someone? We Answered:
1. depends what they want me to change about my looks, say they liked long hair i would try to grow it, but if they wanted me to dye my brunette hair really blonde i dont think so, but i might try it to see if i actually like it better? i would never get plastic surgery or anything like that unless i wanted it.2. i would only change my attitude, if i had a bad attitude, which i don't...but i do tend to be negative sometimes when i get in my moods, so if they asked me to try to stop being so negative, yes i would try because it is really for my own benefit as well.
3. my friends, it would depend if i had truly great friends or not and if they were interferring with my relationship, or if they were causing me problems......if they were great friends who were always there for me i would never stop being friends with them.
4. my career, well im a housewife now, but i used to work for an insurance company, but if i had a bad career like say stripper lol which i wouldnt be that but if i was yes i would stop it, but i wouldn't change my career if i really enjoyed it and it was a good, decent job.
5. yes i would change my location, my hub wanted to take a good paying job in another state and i agreed i wasn't thrilled at first but now i am happy, but i wouldn't move for just anyone unless i truly thought they were the one for me. i wouldn't want to leave my family and friends for just anyone.

Career Class Survey?We Answered:
Person's Career Technical WriterAge 36, Female
(This isn't my present career - I'm currently a grad student. But I was a writer for about 12 years so I'll provide answers for that career.)
1) Which part of your life style: family, friends, leisure activites, spiritual well-being, or career is most important?
Spiritual well-being is most important because without that, nothing else is in balance. It is the foundation on which all other things rest.
2) Which of the five parts do you wish you could get greater satisfaction from than you do now: friends, leisure activites, spiritual well-being, or careers?
Friends and careers.
3) How does your career affect the other four parts of your lifestyle?
My career provides enough time for me to pursue the other parts of my lifestyle.
4)What caused you to choose your present career?
A friend of mine recommended it to me. The pay was good and it was stable so I continued.
5)How often have you changed careers? Are you interested in changing it in the future?
Once. I used to do administrative work about 13 years ago. I've branched out into more multimedia, web developer, and web design work recently. I am going back to graduate school to do learn to do more video/film, new media work so that I will not have to be a technical writer again. I love writing, but hate technical manuals.
6)Aside from the money, what gives you a sense of satisfaction with your career?
Nothing. This is why I am leaving. But in an ideal career, I would like to impact people's lives and make a positive change. It is also very important to me that I be able to be creative.
7) What, if anything, could you have done in the past to make your work more satisfying with your career?
Not settled for the first job that came along. Took more risks earlier. Chosen the major that was in my heart (radio television and film) rather than the one that was the easiest (speech communication).
8) What advice do you have for me as I choose and prepare for a career?
Take time to get to know yourself - your strengths and your weaknesses. Try a lot of different things - don't be afraid to fail. Spend more time on internships, coops, projects, than worrying about getting a 99 instead of a 92 on a paper. The quickest way to learn what you want to do is by trying and failing (or succeeding). Cherish your friends and college relationships - they will be there for you long after college is gone hopefully. If you want to get married - make it a priority in your life, but don't be consumed by it. Don't be afraid to take risks. If you want to travel or spend a year abroad before you settle into the work world, do it. Take care of your health. Don't do something just for the money. Think about what you do best and then think about how you can be profitable doing it - but don't take something you hate just because the salary is high. Don't sacrifice your relationships or health for your career - because the company can cut your position in a heartbeat if you don't contribute to the bottom line. Whatever you do, start investing early. Take advantage of your company's 401K. Get good enough grades that you can get into grad school if you decide to go. Get recommendations from professors before you leave school - have it put on file so that you can use it in case you want to further your education. Don't get so tied up with choosing the right job that you don't make any decisions at all. After all, you can always quit and get another one. And finally - but this probably should have been first - put God first in all that you do.
All the best,
C

I'm getting out of my field in which I majored at college: Musicology. It's been very lucrative, but my house is swamped with parrots who lost their homes. With a parrot rescue, I'll be making even more than as a musicologist.<======Will work for bird food.
