Career Change To Human Resources

Ernest Said:

Iam a Post Graduate in Human Resources looking to change my career path by doing SAP?pls suggest me.?

We Answered:

The two are different, but strangely they fit together quite well when going into big companies...go for it...

Constance Said:

I have to answer this interview question: Why do you want a career in human resources? Idk what to say.?

We Answered:

1) You feel confident that you have the skills to fulfill the position.
2) A career in human resources is promising and assuring, in regards to the need for tomorrow's top position.
3) There is job security that comes with these type positions.
4) You have a very good perception of most people, which is definitely something an HR staff person would need to be successful.
5) The gratification that comes with being in HR is simply wonderful; basically you are "helping" someone....an employee, the employer, the workplace, in a magnitude of ways.....the reward of helping is so gratifying.

Lee Said:

I am looking to change careers to Human resources, but don't have a HR background. Any suggestions?

We Answered:

What is your background, because that is very important. Tell me what you background is and i will give more specific information.

The first thing an HR professional needs is a Bachelors degree. A degree is HR is preferred, but if you do not have that, I would suggest looking into some kind of professional certification.

You also need to decide what area in HR you want to get into. There is Employee Relations, Comp and Benefits, Performance Management, Staffing, Safety and Risk, and Officer Development. Professional certification is available for all of those areas.
