Career Changes Ideas

Career change ideas?We Answered:
As a fellow journalist (or one in training, at least), sometimes I find that often just a change in scenery is necessary. When you get writer's block, it's helpful just to go somewhere else to see if inspiration hits you. Perhaps maybe that's what you career needs? A change in location would help get you out of your norm and into a new market, with new stories to write and new challenges as well. If you're willing to relocate, it could be what you need.Others have suggested HR, but I find that journalists are ofter very good at PR, too. Maybe try getting a job in that field? Much of your experience would be able to carry over and it wouldn't require additional schooling. I'd imagine that you could get a decent job in the field, too (much better than entry level, anyway).
If none of those options seem appealing, maybe you just need to change departments. I know when I was a manager on my college newspaper, I missed the writing, and I'm kind of glad that I'll be able to be just a pure writer again this semester. Really, as you know, journalism is all about finding your passion. Think back to why you got in the biz, how you started out, what you liked and what you disliked. Getting beck to doing what you enjoy may be the key to reviving that journalistic spark.
Hope that helped. Thanks for adding me!

Stop and think of a salary of 90K a year.Close your eyes and think Bali, Hong Kong, Italy, Antigua.
Picture yourself there with all the money you will be making and your interest will come right back.
No one, absolutely no one I have ever met in their lifetime loves their job.
They love the money they make and the stability they can provide for their family...
