Change Career Path
Katrina Said:
Is it too late to change my career path?We Answered:
Okay, this is going to sound kind of cliché but it's never too late to change career paths.I'm 23, I'm graduating from the University of Oregon this year in Psychology. I still don't know 100% what I want to do. It took me until about a year and a half ago to choose a major. Even still, if I change my mind, I can always go back to school after. A very small percentage of students actually work in the field that they major in in college.
So, don't stress about it. It will come to you eventually. Most of my friends and I were all in the same boat.
Good Luck!

Can I still get Unemployment if I change my career path?We Answered:
Since you are in Fire Academy ("school") you are not eligible for unemployment. And you probably are not eligible for hire as a firefighter until you complete your program at the Fire Academy. To qualify for unemployment, you must be able to work, available for work and actively seeking employment. And you have to accept the first job offered. If you turn down a job offer, you are no longer qualified.

i am 26 and would like to change my career path. What is the most promising career worth switching to?We Answered:
Since a career ensures that you will survive, that is not what makes a career worth switching to. Maybe you could consider exploring a career that you know a little about and not a lot about. Also, a career that would be challenging and thus enjoyable. If it is a career you can't do -- like flying falcon-like, then that would not be good. This category is business and finance, so, maybe you're in finance now. Maybe you could move to marketing or sales? Maybe, you could move out of business and into a government related job.

I think I'm too old at 23 to change career path?We Answered:
i suppose that depends on your career path? You are certainly not too old. If you went to school for 8 years (enough to be a specialized physician if you already have undergrad) Then you'd be 31 and could work as a doctor for 34 years before retiring at age 65. So no you aren't too old.Yolanda Said:

The British Veterinary Nursing Association is probably the place to look to get your answers.http://www.bvna.org.uk/smartweb/anas/ana

when Is it time to find a new job ? and do I change my career path?We Answered:
Apply for jobs that interest you. This takes dedication....have a resume ready. It say's ALOT about you (GOOD) that you have stayed with the same job for so many years. You are dependable and dedicated. Hang in there something will come along. You also might consider checking out some local employment agency's. And if you are asked by a potential employer why??? you are looking for a different position I don't think it would hurt to say you have hit a brick wall promotion wise and wish to further yourself. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!!Joann Said:
When is it too late to change your career path?We Answered:
I don't think it is ever to late to go back to college or change what you want to do for a living, however I read somewhere that depending on how close you are to retirement if the cost of going to school and just being in the workforce for only a couple of years would really be worth it, but I personally think that there is always something else you can learn and going back to college is a lot of fun :) maybe going to a community college would be better for your needs rather than a regular 4 year degree?? I've taken classes every couple of years just to add new skills to what i'm already doing.
