Yes, every enlisted person is eligible for CAREERS, during their first enlistment.* Your window of eligibility opens at 33 months for a 4 year enlistee. I think its 54 months for a 6 year enlistee. The downside is that you can only cross train into jobs that have shortages so if there is an AFSC you really want but they are not short, you won't be accepted.

*Bad performance reports etc may make you less desirable. Certain disciplinary actions can cause you to become ineligible but I know that won't be a problem for you.

Other ways to change jobs include performing special duties, ie. postal duty or eventually first sergeant duty, etc.

Otherwise, you have to wait until there is an overage in your career field.
