Change Of Career Cover Letters
Phillip Said:
What changes should I make to my Cover Letter? We Answered:
First of all, you shouldn't say your name in any part of the paragraph... only at the bottom signature. You need to cater the cover letter to each particular job you apply to. So you can't say you want a career in technology, math, writing and everything else you put. If you're applying to a tech firm, you have to cater it to the tech position and make it seem like you want to solely pursue a career in that field. In the second paragraph, it is BAD to say that you are interested in any type of employment because that shows more desperation than interest. A firm won't hire you for a particular job if they don't know you really want to work there. So take out everything that says "any position" and the like.
You should start off with an attention getter as your first sentence. And in the last paragraph, you thank the employer for their time and consideration.
The links below should help you greatly.

Help with a cover letter? We Answered:
Just juiced it up a bit....... of course you need to italicize and underline where appropriateTo Whom It May Concern:
This letter is an expression of my desire to be considered for the position of "Marketing Coordinator" at Retirement Living TV. I have worked for ten years as a Manager with "Giant Foods" where my duties included but were not limited to contributing to the growth of sales and profit within my department. Last year our store accomplished the highest increase in sales in our division. I utilized my sales and marketing skills to target potential customers and successfully meet there needs, in the food retail industry. I feel now is an opportune time to make the transition into the marketing and advertising field, especially one that pertains to assisting aging seniors and facilitating an active and rewarding retirement for them. I would like to be contacted to discuss my qualifications for the open position. Thank you for your anticipated consideration in regards to this matter.
