Change Of Career Path

Agnes Said:

Is It Too Late to Change Career Path to Become A Doctor?

We Answered:

The only time it is too late, is when you are dead.

That being said, some things to think about. In order to apply to medical school and take the MCAT (to be successful) you will need to have a full year of biology (plus lab), a full year of general chemistry (plus lab), a full year of organic chemistry (plus lab), and a full year of physics (plus lab). You will also need some type of college math and possible some other courses like anatomy, biochemistry, genetics, and physiology. You might want to look at the websites of schools you would consider to determine exactly what courses they require.

Basically, this decision is going to come down to how many of those classes you need to take, as you are talking about a minimum of 4 semesters if you have to take all of them. And if you are willing to take that time. Also, community college is usually not good enough for medical school, since they usually teach the classes more like a high school class (algebra based) rather than the tougher calculus based.
