Executive Career Change

Leon Said:

I'm a 44 year old woman. Currently employed as an executive assitant. I am looking for a career change.?

We Answered:

At 39, I went back to school to study music. I got my BA in music and then got a BSc in Performing Arts. Then I went and got my master's in human resources development and now I'm working on my MBA. I'm 45 now, will be 46 when the MBA is done. 6 years, four degrees.

Point is, you are not too old to go back to school (it's actually a lot easier at our age) and it doesn't take all that long to get qualified in any field you want (except maybe medicine).

The real question is - what would you like to be doing in 20 years? I'm thinking you might like to be retired by then. Some more education would certainly help with a goal like that.

Career Change?

We Answered:

Follow your heart. Go for what you are tempted at. You can choose the "Business Analyst" one and study through correspondence. You will never know, this might be the platform to utilize your potential to the fullest. Go for it!!!

I'm 52 years old and an executive assistant for my entire career (in the medical field). I have no degree.?

We Answered:

Look at the positives of what you do and your strengths. Although you have no degree, you have tons of experience. Search for what it is that you'd like to go into and see if it is a possibility. Of course the negatives are starting over in a career again. Positives -- just start making a list --- it can be a good move for you if you let it be.
good luck!
