Find A New Career
Harold Said:
I need to find a new career, but the job market is terrible what do I do?We Answered:
You keep trying. Make sure you’re calling these companies to ensure your info was received. Actually call before you send anything to find out who will receive your info so hat you can address your cover letter to that person. As much as you might not love your current job, try to find something about it to like. Example: lots of companies aren’t hiring, you already have a secure job.

What's the most efficient way to find a new career that will take me out of CA?We Answered:
Where are you looking to move? The Texas Workforce Commission has a great site (www.workintexas.com). You can post a resume on it, and get the site to send you e-mail notifications when you match a listed job.... I will betcha that Texas is not the only state with such a site. I will also tell you that if you're looking in Texas, don't limit yourself to a single region because for example, San Antonio has lots of science jobs but no lawyer jobs -- whereas Austin has lots of lawyer jobs and not much science....And I will tell you that things are pretty good in Texas and I am SOOOO happy to be out of California for EVER...good luck to you!Judith Said:

What volunteer organizations deal with helping veterans find new careers? We Answered:
Go to the VA, they need volunteers with your experience. You may even get a part time job doing this type of work.Locate the nearest VA hospital or clinic in your area at this link.

You might also contact the unemployment office, they often use volunteers or even hire them part time to assist veterans in developing skills to locate a job.
