How To Change Careers At 45

Janice Said:

I don't know what to do.....I just want to die :-(?

We Answered:

please, go call a suicide hot-line. Believe or not when you feel like this no matter what you're going to think nobody loves you when people really do love you. You just don't realize it. You're life is worth something to others. Even if you don't know it yet.

Whats the farthest youve traveled with your 1 month old baby?

We Answered:

That will be tough. You will need to get on a strict schedule and feed the baby before you leave, etc.. I would find something closer if possible. You don't even know what your babies temperment will be like yet, it could cry the whole way and that's no fun for either of you!

What is some info on becoming a firefighter in Omaha, NE?

We Answered:

Here you go--

All the information you need about how to join the Omaha Fire Department is at the Web site below. Just click on the links you will find there.

http://www.ci.omaha.ne.us/HumanResources…

As to moving to another state after becoming a firefighter in Omaha, well, that depends on where you move. Obviously, each city recruits separately. So, if you decide down the road that you want to relocate, you would have to research about opportunities in the new location. But it seems pretty certain that you would have a leg up if you already have experience. You would need to ask about how stuff like your pension would work, but you can work that all out if the issue ever arises.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!!

Feeling suicidal......need help?

We Answered:

I know life can suck really bad sometimes, but don't do the suicide thing. It will get better. I know it doesn't seem like it but it will get better. That is wonder full that you have a degree. But along with the degree comes with the experience. Usually you can't get right in to that high paying job right after college. That is why there are internships. You need to find an internship. You wont be making the big bucks with that type of job, but at least you will gain the experience you need to do what you really wnt to do. It takes time. I got my degree in electrical engineering a few yeas ago. Does that make me an engineer? no! I still need the experience. I am working as an engineering technician for now. I guess you could call that an intern ship. Although I don't make as much as an engineer, I am gaining a lot of experience. Just hang in there you will get where you want to be. Good luck

Someone wrote: College is worthless, and the average person has no common sense?

We Answered:

The US Department of Labor has reliable statistics that the average BS/BA makes at least a million more in a career than a high school graduate. Anyone can point to exceptions from the average in a large sample, the wealth of information demonstrates that it's a good investment.
The Whitehall Study showed that people with degrees have lower stress indicators in their lives and live healthier longer lives.
Employers who hire liberal arts graduates don't do so because those graduates have readShopenauer. They hire them because they have demonstrated the ability to slog through crap for at least four years and understand discipline enough to complete a program not designed by themselves.
Society requires sacrifice and that fragile structure must be maintained by those willing to cooperate in the long and short run.
