How To Change Jobs
Terrance Said:
How often did you change jobs before actually settling down to one company? We Answered:
I held two professional positions in management until I found my home with a company I really liked and did well with. This favorite position lasted about twelve years until we were bought out by a hostile "green mail buyer" who proceeded to ruin everything. I left for another company and held two different positions after that until I retired. Two suggestions: Always try to leave on good terms, and never look back. In every-body's lifetime work today you will probably hold at least 5 or more jobs before you retire.Angela Said:

How long does it take to change jobs?We Answered:
Unless your AFSC is way over manned. You will not be allowed to retrain into another AFSC untill you reenlist.
You can reenlist before your current enlistment contract runs out.
Usually up to a year early, but sometimes up to two years early.
But, you will have to gain your citizenship before you are allowed to reenlist.
Also note, they will not allow you to retrain into a afsc that is over manned.
And right now, alot of Air Force afsc's are over manned.
So your looking at atleast 3 years in your first afsc, before you could reenlist and retrain.
And to the first poster, no they do not allow illegal aliens to enlist in the US military.

How Long Does It Take For You To Be Able To Change Jobs When You Are In The US Army?We Answered:
OK, first off, you need to keep in mind that if you do well on the ASVAB there is no need to take it again. And, if you do take it again and don't score as well the second time around your ASVAB scores will change, for better OR worse. As far as how long you have to be in your MOS, I believe it's a year before you can change. But, you can only change MOS' if the one you have is not understrength and the one you want to change to isn't overstrength.

how does it affect your ability to get a loan if you change jobs?We Answered:
Changing jobs does not affect your credit score but it does change how the underwriter will view you in terms of risk. If you have had a steady job for several years and you are staying in the same type of career/ job/ industry the change in employers won't matter much. If your new sales job is commission they are going to want a bigger down payment because commision based income doesn't count for much to an underwriter.Derek Said:
What are the chances of being forced to change jobs in the Army?We Answered:
You scored a 99 on ASVAB, even if they retrain you, it would be a waste of your talents to shove a rifle in your hand and send you to the field. That would make no sense. They need talent and you may actually be the one who chooses to cross train into something else you like better.
